Darlene’s Shrimp Shack

Best Shrimp in Texas! This unassuming food truck on 61st Street, right as you get onto the island, has some of the most amazing shrimp we’ve ever had! Ten huge gulf shrimp with a variety of interesting flavors at a reasonable price is always worth the stop.

Gypsy Joynt

What once was a hidden gem is becoming more well known as they won Galveston Island’s Restaurant of the Year award in 2017.  The interior is eclectic and interesting, and there’s always a fun and lively crowd.  We recommend the sweet potato tots, fried brussels sprouts, sleazy mac, and pizzas.  Also, all of their desserts are amazing!
Marios pizza

Mario's Pizza

With two locations in Galveston Island (61st St. and in Pirate’s Beach), Mario’s Pizza is our favorite pizza joint on the Island.  Come here if you like crispy crust, bubbling cheese and plenty of toppings.  It gets better–they have delivery too if you are looking to stay in and eat!

cajun-greek

Cajun Greek

This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years!  It’s family friendly, the staff is great, and they have all kinds of delicious food that everyone will enjoy.  Our personal favorites are the seafood gumbo, crab claws, seafood jalapeños, seafood platter, and any of their fresh seafood.  Check out their lively bar and visit the restaurant for great lunch or dinner!

Gaido's

If you’re looking to take that special someone out for a special occasion, this is your spot.  The interior is immaculate, yet classic, and the staff is very professional.  We recommend the Mahi Mahi, the fresh catch of the day, the shrimp and grits, and deep sea scallops.  Gaido’s provides an experience you won’t forget.

Nate's West End

Conveniently located just outside of Jamaica Beach, Nate’s West End is a go-to for the locals. Their fantastic locally sourced menu brings some of the best fish that the Gulf has to offer!

blvd seafood

BLVD Seafood

This is one of our favorite restaurants on the island.  Amazing drinks, even better seafood.  Try their to-die-for D-lux Bloody Mary, tuna poke, or their NY Strip and we promise you won’t be disappointed.  Be sure to make a reservation during the summer months!
DTO

Daiquiri Time Out (DTO)

This craft cocktail bar has some of the best cocktails on the island.  Open til 2 AM, this hidden gem is a great hangout spot to enjoy the afternoon or night!  Ask for the secret menu and order the Mani Pedi–it’s expensive, but self care is where it’s at.  What’s a vacation without a cocktail in hand?
shrimpnstuff

Shrimp-N-Stuff

Shrimp-N-Stuff definitely rivals Darlene’s when it comes to shrimp.  All of their platters are fresh and delicious and we love their dog-friendly patio when the weather is nice outside.  They were voted Best Seafood Galveston County for a reason!  We recommend all of their shrimp dishes (shrimp gumbo, fried shrimp, fresh shrimp, etc.).
Sandbar grill

The Sandbar Grille

Located in Sea Isle, this waterfront spot has great local seafood, burgers & beers.  Personally, we think they have some of the best burgers and fries on the island.  Go straight from the beach and enjoy a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Check our their water views with with a cold beer or margarita in hand and play a game of pool while you’re at it!
